Hi everyone welcome to the 2010/11 Season
As with last year, those who are both parents as well as either coaches or on the executive, you’ll get multiples. If any of you would prefer to receive emails at a different address or at multiple addresses, just let me know. If you have ex-spouse who should receive emails let me know too and I’ll add them in.
This will be our main method of communication this year. Please also review the website Lacomberingette.ca for postings, ice schedules, team schedules (if your team uses it) etc.
First: Executive Meetings
Mark your Calendars for the executive meetings. They are on the following dates at 7:00 in the upper arena lobby meeting room on the 2nd Wednesday of every month except where noted below. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Showing up does not mean you will be saddled with work. It means you’ll have an idea about how we run, why we make the decisions we do and input to what decisions are made.
October 13, 2009 Agenda will include team formation, affiliation, tournament preparation, coaching certificate requirements
November 10, 2009 – note 11th is a holiday so decided to move to the 18th as expect many people will be missing tournament and final team rosters will be on agenda
December 8, 2009 agenda will include post ice-breaker and pre-AA tournament discussion, final team lists for Ringette
January 18, 2010 – agenda will include January tournament prep, discussion of teams vying for provincials *********Note this is the third week***********
February 9, 2010 – agenda will include post tournament report, year end plans, Set Budget meeting
March 9, 2010 – agenda will include year end wrap up, provincial competitions, approve 2010/11 budget
April tba – proposed AGM date – usually first week in April, but that days falls during Easter weekend and school holidays

November tba Ringette Week
December 3,4,5 Ice Breaker Tournament
December 18,19 AA Tournament
January 28,29,30 Additional Tournament Weekend – idea here is that we are too cramped with all age groups during icebreaker, we will split ice breaker to Jr. and Sr. weekends to provide more ice and allow for more teams
No Provincial Tournament dates available yet.
Third: ICE ICE ICE
First, no Monday ice again this year, so you can count on Tuesday, Thursday ice times. We can’t allocate practice times until we know the teams. We won’t know the teams until after the evaluations are complete, a bit later for others depending on numbers etc. We were able to keep our ice the same in Lacombe this year, but do expect games in Bentley and Blackfalds as we are not allocated enough in Lacombe (not enough ice for all users)
Do check the ice schedule on the web site periodically – it is titled 20010/11 ice .
Everyone has started or will start this weekend with the exception of the jr bunnies who will start around Oct 1
Fourth: Teams
We have final numbers, we will have one U6 (new junior bunnies) team, two U8(9) (bunnies) teams, two U10 (Novice) teams, two U12 (petite) teams, one U14 (Tween) team, one U16 (Junior) team – We also have worked together with Red Deer to Make arrangement for our Belle girls to be able to play this year they will be playing out of Red Deer but will be still members of our association and will have some Ice in Lacombe.
